Somerset, N.J., June 23, 2023 – High5, a leading provider of global talent solutions, has won ‘The Cornerstone Best Use of Technology Award’ at the TIARA Talent Solutions Awards, organized by TALiNT Partners, on June 8, 2023 in Atlanta, GA.
The Cornerstone Best Use of Technology Award recognizes companies that solve a business issue through the implementation of a unique, new tech solution or who uses existing tech in an innovative way. Following a thorough evaluation of High5’s talent management system and the total talent solution we call Managed Direct Sourcing (MDS), the judging panel chose High5 as the winner among the list of finalists in this award category.
Judges comments: “High5’s entry was recognized by the judges for demonstrating a genuine strategic shift in how to seamlessly deliver a new technology solution to clients that drives clear results.”
Since its inception, High5 has set out to achieve key objectives, including reducing time to fill for full-time and contract roles, increasing hires from known candidates in the client’s legacy systems, improving redeployment rates, and minimizing reliance on third-party suppliers. To tackle these challenges, High5 developed an end-to-end talent solution that simplifies access to high-quality talent by aggregating the talent supply chain across a network of recruiters. These recruiters are curated based on their specializations, industries, and geographies. With High5, employers get thousands of suppliers through a single point of access, along with extensive vetting capabilities that are integrated into the talent selection process, making assessments transparent and easy. High5’s technology and curation services can be expanded programmatically to enable large-scale MDS, allowing organizations to utilize and retain the best talent, thereby saving time and money.
Before implementing their global talent solution, High5 carefully observed and evaluated the client’s challenges and found that contract positions took an average of 30 days to fill, while full-time roles took 55 days. Only 2% of hires came from known candidates with a redeployment rate of 12%. These clients typically worked with 56 third-party suppliers, utilizing systems like Workday and Fieldglass.
High5’s solution was integrated into the client’s contingent career site, ATS, and VMS. It resulted in enhanced visibility of known candidates and contractors without requiring direct user engagement. All this, without having the client team interface with High5’s technology stack which eventually helped improve user adoption. Talent pools were created based on common hires from the past three years, including known and actively recruited candidates which positively impacted the rate of hiring. The High5 talent pools and curation teams were given a 7-day exclusivity period for contract roles and a 14-day period for full-time roles. High5’s AI and matching capabilities efficiently matched incoming requirements across all known and recruited candidates.
Twelve months after implementation, the time to fill for contract roles came down from 30 days to just 12 days, while for full-time positions it reduced from 55 days to approximately 25 days. Moreover, the rate of hires from known candidates increased from 2% to 12% with redeployment rates jumped from 12% to 25%. As far as third-party suppliers were concerned, High5’s total talent system was successful in bringing down the number from 56 supplier to mere 18 third-party suppliers.
It was one of the first times High5 tried a counterintuitive and innovative approach of leveraging their recruiter marketplace, vetting and curation tools, and their direct sourcing technology in a seamless and vertically integrated manner. All system implementations were carried out keeping in mind a single goal of eliminating the need for client’s users having to touch High5’s talent management system.
High5’s strategic approach driven by its technology solution – leveraging known talent to accelerate time to fill for contract and full-time positions – turned out to be greatly successful. Within a year, the client achieved 40% directly-sourced fulfilment (260 of 645 roles), having over 50,000 candidates pooled within the private talent community. The client had direct sourced 15% of their overall spend with $1.3 million in hard cost savings on staffing fees, successfully shaving 50-55% off of time to fill. These results further motivated the client stakeholders to amplify the program into more skill categories, including freelancers and SOW work.
